I always thought it was the Maytag repairman…

Sorry to have left my duties as a poster of mostly mildly humorous posts, in addition to occassional updates about our inks.  We’ll try not to let a lull like that happen again.

The Struggles of Lacking a Cellphone

While you may have read the headline correctly, and could write your own blog post as to how many issues you would have when not possessing a cellphone, not owning a phone makes people better communicators. I mean real communicators. Even having your phone broken for three days feels nice to not have to be constantly connected. Sure, you lost your mind when you see a cracked screen, but after the serene silence sets in, it’s nice.

I don’t exactly agree with giving a seven-year-old a cellphone and having them a few inches from a tiny screen every day. Twelve-year-olds sit in their school cafeterias staring at devices instead of communicating with one another. Fifteen-year-olds are absolutely terrified of having to talk to their hair stylist, give a speech, or ask for assistance in a store. I can’t help but make connections to the fact that today’s society is pushing more toward zero communication.

Top Web Browsers This Year

According to recent data collected regarding internet usage, Microsoft is fairly close to becoming an obsolete site. Researchers claim it is already on borrowed time and shocked the site still stands. Those who own Microsoft Edge on their computers often become agitated with the consistent reminder to use the application when they obviously don’t want to. Microsoft Edge was labeled as a “flop” with other applications being much more likely to be used.

Is Contacting An Employer Over the Phone Insulting?

As I was driving into work this morning, I was listening to one of my favorite local radio stations and heard them announce a new statistic claiming that making phone calls will soon be phased out for good. Instead of  “believing everything you hear,” I decided to look into a few more articles regarding the concept of a pure texting market. Sure, the availability of smartphones and tablets is ever-expanding, but does no one want to hear the sound of another person’s voice anymore?

Apparently, the idea of contacting other employers or business partners has become purely email and texting-based. If you want to make a call from work, you’re supposed to text the individual ahead of time to make sure they are available. Without the preferred forewarning of verbal communication, our society assumes the phone call only consists of a drop in market or death. Talk about dramatic.

This isn’t some rant about millennials or the fact that smartphones are going to take over the world. It is, however, concerning that the connection to a device, which was created to prompt more contact, has driven people to become absolutely fearful, and even irritated, by the idea of verbal communication.

Best Advertising Campaigns

Some of the best marketing campaigns are short and sweet, interesting and original, comedic, or, most importantly, it makes consumers strive to BE in your campaign. Memorable campaigns both relate to the common-man and make “average individuals” believe they can be as cool as the people portrayed in the ad.

The most memorable campaigns include Nike, Old Spice and Procter & Gamble.

Communication of Cars Over Cellular Networks

By 2020, it’s rumored that cars will have the capability to communicate beyond just sharing their location and speed, which, in it of itself, is amazing.  This potential communication system will assist cars in avoiding collisions during dangerous weather conditions and send reports to local news crews providing updated  information from the road.
